Our app, PIP (Preoperative, Intraoperative, and Postoperative), links to medical records and walks parents through personalized stages of care as their child is hospitalized for surgery.
It helps parents and their children prepare for both the physical and psychological components of surgery and demystifies the process to alleviate fear under critical conditions.
As part of NewYork-Presbyterian’s Pediatric Appathon, 17 teams of designers, developers, and clinical staff competed for 30 hours to develop apps that improve pediatric healthcare. A panel of NYP leaders and New York tech influencers judged prototype submissions based on ease of use, design, benefit for users, creativity and innovation, scaling/standards, and overall quality. Our team, Team Kinder, delivered the winning submission.
