water

There once was a girl who saw a jerry can on a website, and her life was changed forever.

I want to be an artist for change.

Ever since I stumbled upon the charity: water website a few years ago, I knew that this was an organization I would love to be a part of one day. A passion for empowering people has been instilled in me, and I have a hard time understanding how anyone can turn a blind eye instead of offering a hand; I want to inspire people to take another look. I want to put my talents forward in any way I can to build towards a future where everyone can have an opportunity to succeed in life, and that begins with having clean, accessible water. I think it’s my time to be a part of this movement.

Many hands. Lighter work.

I’d love to be a part of a team with similar motivations. Currently, I man the art direction and design work for a predominantly web-based boutique marketing company. I’m self-motivated and enjoy being enabled to make decisions, but I also love working together in a team to bounce ideas around and see what we can create. I would love working along-side other talented creatives, staying at the forefront of design. Together, I think we could keep pushing the charity: water brand forward. Besides being a web designer, I am an illustrator, painter, identity and print designer. I’d be able to step in and help with anything that arises outside of the normal scope of a UI designer.

But can I do the job?

  • I have a love for making user experiences intuitive.
  • I’m comfortable writing html and css, and I love solving css conundrums.
  • I’m constantly learning, since technologies are always changing.
  • I believe design serves a purpose and shouldn’t be merely aesthetic.
  • I have a BFA in Graphic Design (and Painting), and a minor in Multimedia (aka web design).
  • I’ve worked on websites for everyone from the local orthodontist to national disability non-profit organizations… and my dream is to work for non-profits.
  • I’ve created branding systems and have continued to evolve them over time.
  • I possess leadership qualities, but I’m also willing to play a supporting role.
  • I love helping people, from volunteering on organic farms in Italy to set designing for the local charity theatre.
  • I’ve admired charity: water and their designs for years, and would love to add my voice.
